MEMORIES OF PEOPLE AND PLACES
. . .but what is a memory?
an emotion, impression, experience
formed, perhaps framed in a moment
the tapestry of one’s life.
of smell, taste, touch, passion
the sight of someone? of something?
an event
a love.
emotional travel to a place in time
to just that place
that person
. . .and a fleeting feeling of the hope in one’s soul
over the years, we touch memory, smelling that moment
turn it around in our minds and hearts
seeing the facets, like a gemstone, so any angles, patterns, and refractions
that smell. . .that fire, again washes us
and like a gemstone
we pick it up and gaze, hold, touch
the form changes ever so slightly. . .
